Hello all and welcome to my new website! I love to paint everything from Abstract and Abstract Realism to Realism, in oil, acrylic, and watercolor. I’m happiest when I’m at my easel.

About Me

My name is Marshelle Backes (mar-shell back-is) and I live in Montesano, Washington.

I stay engaged in the local art community, I am on the Board for Our Aberdeen, on the committee for ghOST - Grays Harbor Open Studios Tour, 2025 - and am a member of the Harbor Art Guild. I feel it’s important to stay connected even though I struggle daily with chronic pain.

I designed websites for local businesses and non-profits such as Our Aberdeen, ghOST - Grays Harbor Open Studios Tour, Friends of the Museum, Coastal Community Action Program, and many others. But my real passion is Art and Design.
